Herty is the oldest independent contractual research and development organization in the South. It was established by the Georgia Legislature in 1938 to recognize Dr. Charles H. Herty, who is considered to be the father of the Southern U.S. Paper & Pulp Industry. Herty is the only available site in the world that offers lab & pilot scale development, and test market semiproduction capability. The project managers and operators have produced sheets from literally hundreds of varieties of fiber blends.
Herty offers services that many clients find unique – a maintenance staff that works with production operators to make rapid machinery changes to meet trial requirements and a technical group that puts the client’s needs first.
