Leigh Lawless

Leigh Lawless: Marketing & Programs Coordinator

Having spent four years in Atlanta while attending Oglethorpe University, Leigh pondered staying there since she felt like home (Dalton, GA.) was a bit too small. A little while after completing her undergraduate degree, Leigh decided Atlanta was not actually the right place for her. Generally a calm and collected individual, the traffic in Atlanta frequently led her to become a white-knuckled, frizzy-haired, shouting madwoman.

Trying to choose where to go, and wanting the coastal south – she settled on Savannah. Leigh recently received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration at Georgia Southern University and looks forward to putting her skills in communications, grant writing and community development to work full-time for TCCa. She does some writing and researching, but perhaps more importantly serves as the stone cold voice of reason in the more-than-occasional verbal office wrestling matches (the official sport of The Creative Coast).

While attending school, Leigh also worked as a server at some of Savannah’s most popular restaurants including Elizabeth on 37th and Vinnie Van Go Go’s. So, if you want any restaurant recommendations, just ask! Besides enjoying good food and drink, she enjoys her two dogs, Lucy and Alfred, going to Tybee and plans on putting to use a new kayak soon! She has also been involved as a volunteer with The Georgia Historical Society, receiving their Volunteer of the Year Award in 2003, as well with the American Red Cross.
