Savannah's Cultural Arts Theatre will be auditioning for its major summer production of Once On This Island May 28, 29 and June 1.

The play is a catchy, Caribbean-flavored version of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, “The Little Mermaid,” with music by the Tony® Award-winning songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. This upbeat musical captures the imagination with tender ballads and colorful dance numbers as it tells the courageous story of the power of love.

Auditions for singers will be held on May 28 & 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Black Box at S.P.A.C.E., 9 W. Henry St. Auditions for dancers and callbacks will be June 1 at 1 p.m. at the same location. The show calls for talented singers and dancers of all ages, ethnicities, sizes and experience levels, ages 10 through adult. Auditionees can bring a prepared piece of sheet music, or learn one at the audition.
