The City of Savannah has been declared winner of Georgia’s 2006 Drinking Water Taste Test.
Water samples were judged on a scale of 1 to 10 by three judges, with a cumulative score of 30 possible. Mark Grace of Colorado American Water Works Association (AWWA), Bill Zieburtz of Georgia AWWWA and Joe Mantua of Maryland AWWA judged the samples.
Savannah scored an impressive 23, earning the chance to compete nationally in June 2007, at the AWWA Annual Conference in Toronto.
