Evoca demonstrates integration of its innovative Phone-to-Web services with VoIP carrier services through its mashup with Sylantro’s leading multiplay application feature server

Savannah, Ga., October 3, 2007 — Evoca (www.evoca.com) the phone-to-Web services company, was honored as a top finalist in the Sylantro Global Summit 2007 Telephony Mashup Challenge that took place in Las Vegas Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. Evoca’s entry integr…ated its voice recording creation, hosting, and distribution services with Sylantro’s Synapps Web Services. Now carriers can offer Evoca’s value-added voice services to business and consumer customers.

“Recognition of Evoca by leaders in the global telecommunications industry is a significant endorsement of Evoca’s strategy to connect the world’s 4 billion phones with the Internet,” said Murem Sharpe, CEO and president of Evoca. “This industry acknowledgement supports our call-to-action, ‘Get a phone for your website’”.

The Evoca Media Services platform, delivered through APIs (application programming interfaces) and integrated VoIP telephony services, enables media companies, political campaigns, marketers, consumer websites, and organizations in wide range of vertical markets to create and post user-generated content online. “Evoca’s application in this competitive group of entries stood out for its ability to effectively bridge the Web and voice together. The concept of user generated content on the Web is common, but the ability to introduce voice into this mix using a regular phone promises some new opportunities for differentiated services to businesses and consumers” said Shirish Andhare, vice president of product marketing at Sylantro Systems.

Commenting on Evoca’s successful showing in the Mashup Challenge, co-sponsored by the Thomas Howe Company, veteran telephony software engineer and communications industry expert Thomas Howe remarked, “Evoca responded to the Challenge with a solution that gives carriers a truly new way to turn voice into a digital asset for a wide range of online business and consumer applications.” He observed, “Evoca showed its technology prowess and business savvy as a finalist, second only to Infosys Technologies, Ltd., the large global IT-enabled business solutions provider.” The Sylantro Global Summit is an annual gathering of service providers and communications executives from around the world focused on addressing carrier transformation. Attendees heard the latest on hosted voice, mobility and Web services from service providers and Sylantro partners, saw the latest in applications, and listened to real world case studies.
