posted by Betsy Yates

Cities outside the region are noticing the research milestones being accomplished at St. Joseph’s/Candler’s Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion (LCRP).

Nancy Johnson, LCRP Administrator, accepted a $3,104 donation from the Ladies Auxiliary in Macon. The donation, which was attracted through research efforts underway at LCRP, will further support research efforts.

The donation was made at a Veterans of Foreign Wars meeting in Macon on Feb. 16.

Currently, there are 55 active oncology studies being conducted at St. Joseph’s/Candler’s Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion. Patients participate in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials with treatments that have been proven safe in earlier trials. Effectiveness is being compared between specific drugs and dosages.
