SAVANNAH, Georgia ---- The weather is getting warmer and those clubs in the closet are itching for a little competition. The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa and The Club at Savannah Harbor are excited to announce the inaugural summer golf league, at The Club at Savannah Harbor, home of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf Champions Tour.

This is a unique opportunity for golfers to hone their skills on the area’s only PGA course, while networking with other area professionals. The League will play Thursday afternoons May 8th through June 19th (with the exception of May 29nd.)

In addition to the six rounds of afternoon tournament golf, for their $225 enrollment, participants in the league also enjoy: use of all practice facilities prior to play on the day of play; welcome gifts (Thursday, May 8th participants); weekly prizes; optional skins game, and an award ceremony with overall prizes on the final day of play. As an added bonus, all team members in the Summer Golf League are invited to enjoy the Club at Savannah Harbor for a preferred greens fee of $55.00 per player any day of the week after 2:00 pm during this six-week period.


League competition will be limited to the first 10 paid teams of four. Each team will be organized into foursomes with each participating team competing in 2-Person Best Ball format for nine holes. Each foursome will be divided into twosomes, allowing players to network with fellow Low Country business people.

In order to accommodate varying travel schedules, teams will be allowed to alternate players each week at no additional charge. Teams will be awarded points each week in accordance with their weekly finishing position. The final week will consist of an 18-hole event and overall winners will be announced and receive their awards.

Play will begin at 4:30 pm each week with a shotgun start and all handicaps will be established for this series based off the first round of play.

Thursday, May 8th Thursday, June 5th
Thursday, May 15th Thursday, June 12th
Thursday, May 22st Final 18-Hole Event Thursday, June 19th
*Please note we will not be holding a tournament Thursday, May 29th.


The deadline for sign up is Wednesday May 1. Remember the Summer League will be limited to the first ten paid teams only so don’t miss this great opportunity to play at Troon Golf’s 2007 “Facility of the Year”!
