The President and Founder is Dave Sanderson. He began bicycling fifteen years ago to assist in controlling diagnosed Type II Diabetes by bicycling up to 100 miles a week during the season. He founded bicycleSAVANNAH, LLC six years ago.

None of the tours nor events could be implemented without the help of volunteers from several Boy Scout Troops, members of the Coastal Bicycle Touring Club, Jekyll Island Art Association and the many friends I have made through bicycling in Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. Especially George Cheney of Longwood, FL, the Fox family from Charleston SC, and Steve Wise from near Tallahassee, FL. Starting with a cheap mountain bike, he progressed to a racing bicycle and eventually won nine medals in Local and State Senior Olympics and qualified twice the National Senior Games. He has previously been a member of Chatham County CUTS Advisory Committee of the MPC, participated in the Georgia Games Torch Run as it’s oldest member cycling as a team for 400 miles in a week, participated in Bicycle Ride Across Georgia seven times, cycle South Carolina one time, and several events in Florida lasting up to seven days of bicycling. He is a member and is past President of the Coastal Bicycle Touring Club and a Member National Bicycle Tour Directors Association.
Born in Birmingham, Al, he is a graduate of Auburn University. A Presbyterian Elder. Has four children and seven grandchildren two great grandchildren and is widowed from the late Virginia Rogers whom he was married for 50 years.
