PURE: Photographers Using Real Elements is an organization of Savannah photographers who are dedicated to image-making using traditional photography processes: film, photo papers and enlarging equipment in a darkroom setting.
Recently, PURE Community Photography of Savannah, Inc. was formed as a nonprofit organization to create a photography center with the only community darkroom in Savannah. This space will allow artists to continue working in their chosen traditional medium as well as teaching classes to those interested in exploring the beauty of this unique art form.
