Private Vocal Instruction and Private Speech and Acting Lessons


Qualifications:

B.A. in Music with a Voice Proficiency
B.A. in Speech Communications with a focus in Oral Interpretation, Acting, Directing, and Public Speaking
History of Success in coaching private students
General Music and private vocal teaching experience
Public Speaking and Theatre teaching experience
History of Personal Vocal Performance
History of Personal Public Speaking, Acting, and Directing

Services Offered:

Classical Voice Training (which allows the student more flexibility with singing opportunities and styles)
Speech and Acting Training
Coaching for Auditions and Special Events
In-home lessons if needed. (I will travel to your home to teach.)
At school lessons if needed.
Progress Reports to parents showing what has been covered and accomplished
30 or 45 minute sessions (depending on age and experience)
1 or 2 lessons per week

Typical Voice Lessons Include:

10-15 minutes of Warm-up, Breathing, and Relaxation exercises
10-20 minutes of singing assigned repertoire
5-10 minutes of "fun singing" using songs the student has particularly requested to learn

Typical Speech/Acting Lessons Include:

5-10 minutes of vocal warm ups and relaxation exercises
20-35 minutes of working through repertoire and/or prepared speeches with comments and critiquing on areas in which to improve.

**Each lesson will involve stopping and starting to instruct in proper technique. I also include teaching on how the breathing mechanism works to help the student better understand proper breathing and breath support for both singing and speaking. Assigned songs and speeches eventually need to be memorized and "performance ready."
