This workshop teaches participants how to select pieces, mix and match, and end up with an individual, inspired space. Participants learn and apply design theory to create contemporary interiors and gain confidence with their color and material choices while exploring the balance of spatial relations, creating a home interior that parallels their personality. This course provides a relaxed and creative learning atmosphere, giving participants the self-assurance and ability to tackle projects themselves. Through practice and hands-on exercises throughout the day, participants experiment with color, styles, placement and fibers while under professional guidance. Participants leave the workshop with the know-how and inspiration to be creative, and with a solid understanding of a range of key interior design elements, highlighted and discussed through visual and interactive presentations. The workshop also touches on the planning process, along with visual tricks that are used in the trade, such as the importance of color in a space, as well as using colors, fabrics, and materials to their best advantage in a room. Techniques can be applied to all spaces: kitchens, bathrooms, living/dining rooms and bedrooms.
