The “Blue Turtle Bistro” wine dinner series is set to begin on February 7th featuring wines from Italy paired with Mediterranean inspired dishes; imagine a culinary journey through Italy, France, Spain and the Greek Isles.
The first wine evening is titled “Big Boot”, and will start at 6.30 PM in the relaxed, contemporary environment of the “Blue Turtle Bistro”, located on 5002 Paulsen Street in Savannah.

James Yglesias, General Manager of the Blue turtle, and Blue Turtle’s Chef Matt Baldwin are promising epicurean delights and surprises for diners.
1st Course: Demarie Langhe Arneis paired with a red snapper ceviche with roasted garlic crostini and crispy
shallots with basil oil and a balsamic vinegar reduction
2nd Course: Riff Pinot Grigio accompanied by a golden rabbit consume -- braised rabbit strudel, cipollini onion confit, fava beans, and grilled rabbit tenderloin
3rd Course: La Marca Prosecco paired with mussels and clams in a white wine garlic sauce over fresh linguine
and fire-roasted herb tomatoes, garnished with a giant sea scallop and crispy Parmesan tuile
4th Course: Villa Donna Chianti and grilled veal chop with Fontina cheese, Tuscan white bean cassoulet with
sweet Italian sausage, fried sage leaves, and braised kale
5th Course: Onella Molon Eros Red Blend paired with a rich, dark chocolate Tartufo with brandied cherries and a classic cannoli with an almond tangerine filling
Known for dishes highlighting only fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, the “Blue Turtle” in mid- town Savannah has fast become a local favorite since its opening in early summer 2011.

The next wine dinners at the “Blue Turtle” location (after February 07, 2012) are planned for March 06, April 10, and May 08, 2012. The May dinner will be the special occasion to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of The “Blue Turtle Bistro”.
