BED & BREAKFASTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA TO HONOR U.S. MILITARY

Hundreds of Bed and Breakfasts are providing free rooms on Wednesday, November 10th, in observance of Veterans Day (November 11) to honor men and women currently serving in the military, as well as those who have served their country in the past. Over 200 inns in 39 states and Canada have donated rooms for this holiday promotion.

SAVANNAH, GA (September 11, 2011) Azalea Inn and Gardens in Savannah, Georgia is taking part in a special Veterans Day celebration for the second year in a row. “The response from our veterans to last year’s program was absolutely overwhelming and gratifying in a way I cannot begin to put words to.” says Teresa Jacobson, owner of the Azalea Inn and Gardens. Teresa shared that both she and her sister are former member of the Armed Services, and stated she has her father to thank for her deeply instilled respect for our fighting men and women. “Thank you, Dad, for raising me to work hard and give back. All I have left are your medals and your memories, your deep abiding devotion to your country. It is a gift.” Her husband, Mike, adds “My father and my step-father served during the Viet Nam war and I think they would be proud to know that we continue to show our respect for their sacrifices and the sacrifices of their comrades, so we have once again pledged all ten rooms to our veterans on November 10.”

Bed and breakfast inns are smaller hospitality businesses that offer a more personal touch than standard motels or hotels. All rooms have private bathrooms, comfortable beds, and beautifully decorated areas for relaxation or conversation. Known for their great breakfasts and personalized service, B&Bs are a perfect way to enhance a getaway.

Reservations need to be made directly with Azalea Inn and Gardens (or with one of our participating inns on www.SavannahInns.com). A complete list of participating inns across the U.S. and Canada is available at www.BetterWayToStay.com. A valid military or Veterans Administration ID will be required for each reservation. Each participating Bed and Breakfast is making at least one room available on the night of November 10 and availability is limited to a first-come first-serve basis.

ABOUT AZALEA INN AND GARDENS
Azalea Inn and Gardens is located in the Landmark Savannah Historic District within two walking blocks of Forsyth Park, the city's captivating central park, and a mere 7 blocks from the riverfront. The Italianate urban manor (circa 1889 / 10 rooms) was built on garden plots formerly designated for colonial gardening (ca. 1733 Georgia colonization). Original mantles and artisan craftsmanship enhance each of the inn's 10 handsome guest rooms. Enticed to the city while their son and daughter-in-law attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, Micheal and Teresa Jacobson purchased the mansion in August 2005. The latest renovations were completed in 2011. 217 East Huntingdon Street, Savannah, Georgia USA 31401-5714. Toll-Free 800-582-3823 (within the USA or Canada), international +1/912-236-6080.
