The mission of the Forsyth Farmers’ Market is to promote understanding and participation in a local food system that supports sustainable production and increases access to local products.

Overview: The Forsyth Farmers’ Market is seeking a Farm Truck Manager for our Farm Truck 912program. Farm Truck 912 , a farmers market on wheels, is a project of the Forsyth Farmers’ Market and primarily serves neighborhoods with little access to fresh, healthy food. The Farm Truck manager will be responsible for the operation of all mobile market sites, coordination of associates or volunteers, procurement of stock and other duties that promote the success of Farm Truck 912.

Responsibilities include:

  • Procuring all necessary permits and licenses
  • Planning, scheduling, and overseeing all Farm Truck 912 stops/events
  • Ordering all product/maintaining proper food storage
  • Receive, store and input data to Shopkeep for all product
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner
  • Driving and maintenance management of 20’ step van (stick shift)
  • Maintaining relationships with community leaders and stakeholders via meetings and other activities
  • Conducting outreach in neighborhoods to continuously increase number of customers at each stop
  • Promote FFM’s SNAP enrollment services and EBT doubling program; assist customers with SNAP applications/renewals
  • Training/Scheduling/Managing a small team of paid staff and/or volunteers to support sales for each location
  • Managing social media/marketing for Farm Truck 912
  • Other duties as assigned by Forsyth Farmers’ Market Manager or Board of Directors

Experience: Candidates should have good organizational and social skills, as well as experience or knowledge of business management and/or retail experience. Candidates should have a proven record in customer service and able to demonstrate flexibility. They must be comfortable with physical work and able to lift 40 pounds. Experience with social media as a tool for community engagement and advertising and knowledge of Savannah’s different communities is preferred. Experience with fundraising/non-profits a plus!

Requirements: Candidate must have a clean (no more than two moving violations in the past two years)driving record (will be checked) and current, valid Georgia Driver’s License and must be able to drive a manual transmission (stick-shift). This job is 28-32 hours per week.Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends. This is an hourly position with no benefits included.

Reporting: The Farm Truck manager reports directly to the Executive Director.


Salary: $16.00 /hour
