Unique Skills: We are looking for a front-end web developer with a keen eye for design who is motivated and can combine visions of the creative teams with the art of programming and high-quality, modern, optimized code. Responsibilities will include translation of photoshop designs and UI/UX wireframes to standardized code, bridging the gap between graphical design, solid SEO practices and technical implementation. This role will be actively involved in ensuring our interactive and digital products perform at the same level of quality as Gulfstream’s world-class aircraft.

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Multimedia, Interactive Design or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Entry level position. Interactive design, web development, information technologies, and/or system administration experience preferred.

Position Purpose: Under supervision, the Specialist I Digital Development will design, develop, implement, and support web sites, web applications, client applications, kiosk applications, email campaigns, any new mediums and other interactive projects; and manage various projects throughout their life cycle for the enterprise. Identify new technology that would better support department needs. Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Work with internal IT department and Digital Marketing IT Project Manager to integrate products into backend systems such as CRM applications. Collaborate with peers in other Gulfstream departments as necessary to support common business objectives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: 1. Use Photoshop to slice a PSD into markup files (e.g., HTML and CSS) 2. Edit the resulting files without the use of a WYSIWYG 3. Understand and utilize responsive design techniques (e.g., table-less layouts, media queries) 4. Work in a code editor (e.g., Sublime Text, Notepad++) 5. Use JavaScript, either vanilla or with a framework like jQuery, to add interactivity to the page (e.g., accordian-style FAQs or flyout menus) 6. Use front-end frameworks to aid in page layouts and responsive design (e.g., Bootstrap) 7. Use source control concepts when working with web pages, namely with git (e.g., pull, push, commit) 8. Work on a local instance of a web site on a workstation and not reliant on SFTPing files to a remote server (source control used to deploy to servers) Perform other duties as assigned.
