Great Dane, a leading and iconic company in the transportation industry, is looking for a Programmer Analyst whose focus is in SQL. This role is physically based at our Savannah, GA division office only.

The right candidate for this position will be a detail oriented individual – someone who sees the story behind the data. With the help of SQL, you make tables, rows and columns come to life and have meaning. You’ll also be a wiz in identifying and solving problems utilizing both logical and analytical thinking – with a drive to be the best at what you do.

Working as a Programmer Analyst SQL of a busy and progressive IT team, you will have the ability to play a key role providing analysis and technical leadership on projects and to the development team. You will work with functional Business Analysts to identify opportunities for use of technology solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and decision making of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

•Report design from concept through development and implementation while ensuring scalability, performance and maintainability
•Work collaboratively with other development team members, and with cross-functional teams
•Provide maintenance support and assist with updates to existing reports
•Manage several deliverables at once in a fast paced and demanding environment
•Provide guidance and enforcement of development processes
•Create optimized queries and constantly review query performance
•Clearly and proactively communicate technical findings, issues, and outcomes to team members

•Programming Language: SQL
•RDBMS: Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server
•Web Services: SOAP, XML, JSON, REST
•IDE Tools: SQLWorkbench, SQLDeveloper, Oracle BI Publisher

Job Requirements:
•BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
•A minimum of 1-2 years of SQL development experience
•Must have strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
•Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
•Experience with industry standard SDLC methodologies required
•Demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of functional area projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and sound judgment.
•Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
•Excellent coding skills, disciplined in unit testing and integration testing
