STATEMENT OF JOB: The account executive is responsible for locating, developing and selling existing and prospective accounts to mutually benefit the advertiser and Savannah Magazine and other designated publications.

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Advertising, Marketing or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Previous newspaper, magazine or print media sales experience is preferred.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Be resourceful and self-motivated to achieve personal and departmental revenue goals.
Ability to ask questions which elicit critical information.
Ability to translate the customers’ marketing objectives into creative and effective magazine advertising.
Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast paced deadline-driven environment.
Will require use of own automobile.

MANUAL OR MOTOR OPERATIONS: Valid driver’s license, good driving record and a reliable vehicle required.

Physical Demands/WORKING CONDITIONS

The Advertising Account Executive will work in a large open plan office with separate workspace.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

Achieving personal and departmental revenue goals.
Daily prospecting for new business.
Contact decision makers and present advertising proposals.
Maintain a keen awareness of competitive media and the community.
Work with the graphic designer to produce effective ads which meet the marketing objectives of the client.
Obtain client approval and ensure accuracy of all published ads.
Adhere to the deadlines outlined in the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of the magazine and other print and digital products to our audience.
Produce weekly sales report.
Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and weekly sales meetings.
Maintain an active role in the business and hospitality communities with membership/involvement in relevant organizations.
